Set up NovaStar IPTV on a compatible Smart TV using an IPTV player from your television's official app store and the authorized login details supplied for your account. This guide explains how to identify your TV system, install a player, add your details and solve common setup problems.

Quick Smart TV IPTV Setup

What You Need Before Starting

  • ✓ Your server URL, username and password, or authorized M3U URL

Login details are case-sensitive. Keep them private and never post them publicly.

Identify Your Smart TV System

  • Samsung Smart TVs generally use the Tizen operating system and Samsung Apps.
  • LG Smart TVs generally use webOS and the LG Content Store or Apps section.
  • Sony, TCL, Hisense and other televisions may use Android TV or Google TV.
  • Some televisions use Roku TV, VIDAA or another system with different app availability.

Application availability varies by TV model, country, operating system and year. If a compatible player is unavailable, contact NovaStar IPTV support before purchasing an external streaming device.

Install a Player on Samsung Smart TV

  1. 1Press Home on the Samsung remote.
  2. 2Open Apps.
  3. 3Select Search.
  4. 4Search for a compatible IPTV player.
  5. 5Check the application name and developer.
  6. 6Select Install.
  7. 7Open the player after installation.

Do not attempt to install Android APK files on a Samsung Tizen television.

Install a Player on LG Smart TV

  1. 1Press Home on the LG remote.
  2. 2Open Apps or LG Content Store.
  3. 3Select Search.
  4. 4Search for a compatible IPTV player.
  5. 5Check the application and developer.
  6. 6Select Install.
  7. 7Open the player when installation finishes.

Do not attempt to install Android APK files on an LG webOS television.

Add Your IPTV Login Details

Xtream Codes Login

Select the Xtream Codes or API login option and enter: profile name, username, password and server or portal URL. Enter each detail exactly as supplied.

M3U Playlist Login

Select Add Playlist or M3U URL, enter a profile name and paste the complete authorized playlist URL. Save it and wait for synchronization.

Never publish screenshots containing your full username, password or playlist URL.

Some Smart TV players require separate activation or payment to the application developer. A third-party player fee is separate from a NovaStar IPTV subscription.

Common Problems and Solutions

Player Is Not Available

  • The application may not support the TV model, operating system or region.
  • Search the official app store again and verify compatibility.
  • Do not use unknown installation websites.

Incorrect Username or Password

  • Check capitalization, remove accidental spaces and verify the complete server URL.
  • Confirm that the account is active.

Buffering or Freezing

  • Run a speed test, restart the router and television, try Ethernet or stronger Wi-Fi, and test a lower stream quality.
  • A stable 10–20 Mbps connection per HD stream is a practical starting point.

Application Freezes or Crashes

  • Cold-restart or power-cycle the television, check for software updates and reinstall the application if necessary.
  • Saved login details may be removed during reinstallation.

Can I install an Android APK on Samsung or LG Smart TV?

No. Samsung Tizen and LG webOS do not use standard Android APK applications. Use their official television app stores.

Is the IPTV player included with my subscription?

The player is normally a separate third-party application. Some players are free, while others charge an activation or subscription fee.

Can I use the account on multiple televisions?

A subscription can be configured on a compatible device, but only one device should be actively using the subscription at a time.

What should I do if my TV has no compatible player?
